Kaneez Zehra Hassan
Zia Ceramics Design
Kaneez Zehra Hassan is a Pakistani-American ceramic artist based in Utah, working under the studio name Zia Ceramics Design. With a background in archaeology and cultural heritage, she creates hand-built ceramic sculpture that explores memory, migration, cultural inheritance, and belonging.
Her work draws from South Asian material culture, vernacular forms, and traditions of repair. Through layered surfaces, visible seams, fissures, and text, Hassan approaches clay as both material and archive, holding traces of labor, history, displacement, and transformation.
